The Synology MR2200ac router can be used alone. But if you want to expand your Wi-Fi system, you can use it in Mesh mode by adding more devices. With multiple MR2200ac connected to each other, you can expand the coverage area of your network (up to an additional 185 square meters per device). Coupled with the RT2600ac router (minimum SRM 1.2 update required), the Synology MR2200ac offers powerful dedicated SRM applications (such as anti-intrusion technology) and enhanced performance.
