A model from Noctua‘s famous NH-U12 series, which has received more than 600 citations and recommendations from international magazines and specialist websites, the Noctua NH-U12A proudly represents the fifth generation of ventirades. Noctua NH-U12A proudly represents the 5th generation of 120 mm ventirad. Thanks to its innovative heatsink design and 7 heatpipes, it performs as well as most 140 mm models, while retaining excellent hardware compatibility thanks to its 120 mm format.
Fitted with two NF-A12 120 mm fans, the NH-U12A cooling system is supplied with NT-H1 high-performance thermal paste, comes with a full six-year manufacturer’s warranty and is fully compatible with the NH-U12A.It comes with a full 6-year manufacturer’s warranty, making it a high-quality solution that combines performance, silence and an excellent level of compatibility for both recent and older Intel and AMD configurations.
A redesigned radiator
Many fans have dissipation fins that are press-fitted onto the heat pipes. Given the differences in thermal expansion between copper and aluminium, this junction can become brittle over time and thermal cycles, resulting in a drop in performance. In contrast, the NH-U12A’s heat dissipation fins are soldered to the heat pipes, guaranteeing constant heat conduction even over the long term.
At just 158mm high, the NH-U12A is low enough to easily fit into most of today’s mid-range/high-end cases. With a total width of 125mm (including fan and clips), the fan stays away from the PCIe slots on most ATX or micro-ATX motherboards, offering optimum compatibility with multi-GPU configurations.

The NF-A12x25 is a new-generation, ultra-optimised 120mm fan featuring Noctua’s latest innovations in aerodynamics for unprecedented levels of cooling and silence. Leveraging the strengths of this high-end fan in a push/pull configuration is the key to the superb acoustic and thermal performance delivered by the NH-U12A.
The top-of-the-range 120mm NF-A12 fan supplied with the NH-U12A is PWM-compatible and therefore benefits from automatic speed control via the motherboard: optimum performance or virtually inaudible depending on the demands made on the processor. In addition, to further reduce noise emissions, the maximum speed can be capped from 2000 to 1700 RPM by connecting the low-noise adapter.
