The Ariane 2 speakers are the big sisters of the Ariane 1 speakers from Davis Acoustics. With a 17 cm diameter bass driver (instead of 13) and a slightly thinner and more detailed tweeter (19 mm coil diameter), these speakers deliver a wider bandwidth on both sides of the audible spectrum. They provide more bass and more extreme treble, making listening more realistic.
Davis Acoustics expertise
These compact loudspeakers boast an open soundstage and sufficient output to be combined with a wide range of amplifiers. The Davis laboratory has worked to obtain a very linear output curve, to avoid emphasising one part of the frequencies to the benefit of another. This ensures long hours of listening without hearing fatigue.
The Ariane 2 speakers are fitted with non-slip feet that tilt the speakers slightly backwards. As well as an aesthetic effect, this aligns the start of the coils of the two loudspeakers with the vertical plane. This improves sound propagation.
Ariane 2 loudspeakers have a bass reflex load, with its decompression port opening to the rear. It is therefore advisable not to stick them directly against a wall, but to leave a distance of around 30 cm.
