Compared to my previous CPU, the 3700X, in addition to having twice as many threads, this one takes overclocking into account effectively, because it benefits from a better speed, and therefore a much better performance, for a comparable voltage. Of course, I chose it for multitasking, and in this area, this processor excels. The single-core boost is very impressive for 7nm, but I deactivate auto overclocking because the voltage, even for a short time in single-core mode, is too high from the outset, and it’s stipulated in the manual that it invalidates the warranty.

This processor is a beast in gaming, it doesn’t go above 55° with good cooling and maybe overclocked. It exceeds the level of expectation I had for this processor I find it incredible. I highly recommend this product. It’s very powerful, versatile and high-performance.

I received the processor and mounted it on an ASUS CROSSHAIR VIII IMPACT motherboard. I installed a custom EKWB watercooling in my micro ATX case. Idle: 35°c Load: average 55°c (peak at 65°c). The processor can handle anything without plugging in, I mainly bought this one for gaming. I had a Ryzen 9 3900X before this one and I notice a significant performance gain in gaming and low access times, especially since I benefit from Smart Access Memory and Rage mode with my 6900XT graphics card to take advantage of the best AMD performance. I can only recommend it!

Great processor, does its job as indicated on independent benchmark sites. However, beware of the heat, even with a big watercooling (Artic liquid II 360mm) and conductonaut, it tends to heat up a lot. It’s a good idea to find out about this problem before you buy, but otherwise it’s a great CPU.

It’s great to have 32 cores in Blender, Unreal Engine etc… This CPU is a bit like having a ‘badass’ friend who you can always count on to solve problems. I’m really pleased!

For standard applications (office automation, games, etc.) this processor is largely oversized. I use its high capacities (32 threads) mainly for video processing on CPU and transcoding, and more secondarily for compilation. Without any particular overclocking it can be pushed to 5 GHz in monothread. At 100% occupancy it “caps” at 4.3 GHz (225 W of power consumption), the calculations required are completed quickly. This makes it a power monster, ideal for a low-cost workstation. In short, the performance is good and corresponds to the high price of the CPU. As others have pointed out, it gets significantly hotter when used intensively – don’t neglect the cooling. I put a Noctua NH-U14S in it which does the job very well. With it, the package does not exceed 80°C in heavy use, but can still get close to 90°C in a stress test.

overclocked to 4.5ghz 1.20v no more than 66 degrees with custom watercooling. This is a change from the ryzen 3000 series.

Excellent processor. Installed on ASUS ROG CROSSHAIR VIII DARK HERO (C.M dedicated to this type of proco ) and GSKILL DDR4 32GB (F4-3600C16D-32GTZN) cas lat 16.16.16.36. Beware of heating! Provide a large well ventilated tower and a powerful watercooling (if possible custom) to get the most out of this processor. Do not forget ARCTIC MX-4 2019 EDITION (for ex) on all the surface of the cpu (knowing that the cores are distributed on all the core) without exaggerating however. I have placed five small dots of paste in a square + dot in the middle). Overclocking “nice” at 4.45ghz in multi (volt 1.23) remains very stable while keeping a boost at 4.9ghz for games (temp at 79°- 85° Max); it climbs to 5ghz in peak! No noise pollution (with custom cooling) and be quiet Silent Wings 140mm 3 140mm PWM hight speed (x 6) on the tower. Important note: I was able to mount this cpu at 4.35 ghz (v.1.2) in multi with a CORSAIR HYDRO SERIES H115I PRO watercooling without crashing or heating with a PBO still at 4.95ghz! I was able to push it to the max without crashing at 4.7ghz in multi (volt 1.3) still with Dark Hero and custom watercooling…but the temp° and the noise level go up. In the cpu lottery I was lucky ! I live in the south of France and I waited for the temperature to rise a bit before giving an objective opinion about the heating. The processor is really very good, the best from AMD!
