Interchangeable microphones
With its interchangeable capsule system, the Zoom H5 4-track recorder offers you extensive functionality. Included with your H5 is the XYH-5 microphone. The XYH-5 microphone is X/Y shaped and provides stereo capture with unidirectional microphones covering a 90ﾰ soundstage at the front.
Additional (optional) microphones are available to further enhance the potential of your recorder. Easily enhance your recordings with built-in effects. Features include a compressor, limiter, low-cut filter, metronome and tuner mode.
Hi-Res Audio recording
This Zoom model is capable of recording in both WAV and MP3 formats. The former is encoded in 16- or 24-bit with a sampling rate of up to 96 kHz and is automatically time-stamped for optimal use in post-production (compatible with BWF format).
There is a line out and a 3.5mm headphone jack for monitoring. In addition, a USB port allows quick file transfer, firmware update and use as a multi-channel or stereo audio interface by connecting it to a PC/Mac.
Tailored to your needs
The two locking combo connectors accept balanced/unbalanced XLR or 1/4″ plug cables and can accommodate mic and line level signals as well as instrument level signals. There is a gain control and 20dB pad for each input. In addition, phantom power of +12, +24 or +48 volts can be supplied to the four main inputs.
The H5 is powered by two AA batteries, which provide up to 15 hours of recording time. For ideal backup of your recordings, this model accepts SD cards up to 32GB.
