The 2-Port USB 3.0 PCI Express Card allows you to add two USB 3.0 ports to any PCI Express compatible computer system, with an optional LP4 power connector to plug into your system’s power supply to provide up to 900mA per port for USB 3.0 bus-powered devices (500mA for USB 2.0).
Enhanced with UASP (USB Attached SCSI Protocol), this USB 3.0 controller is 70% faster than a conventional USB 3.0 port when paired with an enclosure that supports UASP (Note: UASP is not supported by all operating systems). Using a more efficient protocol than the traditional USB BOT (Bulk-Only Transport), UASP optimises transfer by allowing multiple commands to be processed simultaneously, significantly increasing transfer speeds. The USB 3.0 PCI-E adapter is USB 3.0 compliant for transfer speeds up to 5 Gb/s, while being backward compatible with existing USB 2.0/1.1 devices. For added versatility, the controller card features a standard height bracket and includes a low-profile/half-height bracket for compact computers. UASP is supported on Windows 8, Server 2012 and Linux kernel 2.6.3 or later. Tests show that UASP support provides up to 70% faster read speeds and up to 40% faster write speeds than the maximum capacity of traditional USB 3.0. Under the same conditions, UASP shows up to an 80% reduction in CPU resource requirements.
